The Compassion & Outreach Ministry at YDM exists to embody the love of Christ by reaching beyond the walls of the church to those most in need. Bishop Huel O. Wilson leads this ministry with a heart of service, bringing comfort, encouragement, and hope to the sick, the elderly, the incarcerated, and the marginalized. Hospital ministry provides prayer and support to those walking through illness. Senior nursing home visits offer fellowship and compassion to elders who may feel forgotten. Prison ministry brings the light of Christ to those behind bars, offering spiritual counsel, encouragement, and the reminder of God's unchanging love. Chaplaincy services extend YDM's reach into diverse settings, offering pastoral care to people of all backgrounds and circumstances.
In addition to these vital ministries, the Compassion & Outreach Ministry organizes community food and clothing drives that meet practical needs while opening doors for gospel conversations. Youth mentorship and outreach programs guide young people toward wise choices and purpose in Christ. At its heart, this ministry reflects the compassion of Jesus, who cared for the poor, the sick, and the oppressed. Every outreach effort is grounded in the belief that small acts of kindness can lead to eternal transformation. By partnering with YDM in outreach, you are helping to touch lives with the healing, hope, and love of Christ.
